This was my brother’s twelfth and last operational flight. His operational flying hours were 72. He joined the RAFVR on 20/05/39, was mobilised on 02/09/39 and commissioned on 24/07/40. After operational & other training he was posted to 50 Squadron Lindholme on 27/10/40 & experienced his first operation (to Berlin) on 01/11/40. After training for 15 months from mobilisation in 1939 his operational career lasted only 24 weeks.

For the last four operations his crew was Sgt Lamb (navigator) and Sgts Erdwin and Wright (gunner/wireless operators).
